Vicenza is a culturally lively city. If we consider the music scene of city and province, there are plenty of events year-round all shapes and sizes.
The event of the year is Vicenza Jazz: for more than 20 years, in the two central weeks of May, the city has been filling with concerts in squares, theatres, bars, with international groups and emerging artists sweetening the happy hour and the nights of the Vicentini and of all the jazz-lovers coming from around the world.
From April till October, during the Italian good season, every district and village organize local festivals, where you can taste local and traditional specialities and listen to good music. The biggest attraction for young people are the folk and rock festivals, organized both in the city and in beautiful natural surroundings: Riviera Folk Festival, Festambiente, Ferrock, Rockando, Spiorock, Perarock are just some of them.
Other standing appointments for young people are Montecchio Marittima, the Silent Parties, music parties in the parks and by the ancient walls of Viale Mazzini. Who wants to go further can take advantage of Marostica Summer Festival and Hydrogen Festival in Piazzola sul Brenta to listen to national and international singers and visit wonderful venetian towns.
Vicenza offers a wide range of music events also during the winter season: Teatro Olimpico and Teatro Comunale have a fix season of classical concerts and symphonies, as well as pop concerts. The Società del Quartetto and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico organize also special events: one of the most original ones is the Festival Musica delle Tradizioni (September), which brings traditional music and folklore from different sides of the world to Vicenza every year.
In order to let them fit into Vicenza’s cultural life, the Facebook group for Eurocultura’s trainees is constantly updated with the week events.
